Tasty Wee Numbers Home Bakery is a traditional artisan ‘free from’ bakery based in Ballynahinch, the heart of beautiful County Down. Our emphasis is on traditional home baking for people with specific dietary needs and that means, not only are all of our products 100% gluten and wheat free, we also cater for people who are sensitive to dairy, Lactose, egg, soya and sugar. In addition to this we have a growing selection of products suitable for those following a vegan diet. Absolutely everything we make is hand crafted and baked in our home kitchen. Using the highest quality ingredients we create delicious cakes, tray bakes, muffins, desserts and scones and other bakery products to cater for everyone. The best thing is you don’t need to have a food allergy to enjoy our products, we guarantee they taste as good, if not better.

The business started out in 2014 as Simon’s Celebration’s Cakes after having heard one too many “that cake is fantastic, you really should start your own business” comments to ignore. The business has evolved since then and expanded and we now supply to retail, trade, private, we attend various markets/events throughout the year and also offer an online postal service. As the business expanded it was decided that a new name was needed and, after some research and requests for suggestions, the name ‘Tasty Wee Numbers Home Bakery’ was born. Simon’s Celebration Cakes continues to live on and, in fact, thrives as a division of the company supplying cakes for any occasion (birthdays, christenings, anniversaries and weddings).

I myself qualified as a chef when I left school, successfully completing the City&Guilds 706/1&2 in Pastry & Confectionery. After working for a period of time as a Pastry Chef in a busy hotel I left the trade and worked in the Retail Sector as management for the best part of my career to date. Whilst still holding down my full time job, I started the business and attended college in the evenings in order to refresh my qualifications. In 2014 successfully completed the ABC Level 2 qualification in Pastry & Confectionery and in 2015 I successfully completed Level 3 of the same qualification.

I absolutely love baking and like nothing better than to create and produce something that puts a smile on people’s faces.
